Markin

I am available for foster or adoption

Markin

My name is Markin. I am approximately 2 years old and looking for my forever home. I truly am an awesome dog.  I love kids and people. I get along with all dogs.  I love to play and chase wit other dogs.

I was on the kill list at the pound because they said I was aggressive.   I was so scared in that noisy place. I just wanted everyone to stay away from me. I grew up on the streets with no other litter mates.  I had zero socializing prior to coming to Pets Return Home. Now, after about 50 different dogs I am not afraid of them at all.  I used to be afraid of people.  I still am if they yell or come up fast on me.  I cower but then come right up wag my tail and give them a lick.

I am good with other dogs (with proper introductions of course). I am not sure about cats as I never have been around any. I am good with all children. I have learned to be gentle with the smaller ones. As long as they are polite and can respect my space and me. I walk nicely on a leash and can sit for treats.

I like to hike for hours and swim.  I like to roam on my own – so a large parcel of property or high fence is a must.  I come when called – most of the time – I am still learning it is okay to come to a human.

I never have mastered the shake thing but you could finish teaching me! I am an all around awesome boy. I do have a few quirks that need to be worked on,but doesn’t everybody? My humans can explain those if you are interested in meeting me. I look forward to meeting you

Behavioral notes:

Markin is a beautiful and intelligent dog. He loves children and being with his family.   He is a solid dog that will need continued training with his new owner to solidify the bond. Being an only dog is preferred because of the breed mix but he will bond with another dog with proper introduction. He has many friends here at the ranch and would be a valuable family companion.

Come see Markin and the other homeless dogs & maybe find a new friend.
