Description
Ari
Ari is a charming male, ready to bring boundless joy and love into your life! He is gentle and will make a great family and/or service dog. He is house-broken, crate-trained, and is a lifelong companion waiting to make unforgettable memories with you.
Ari’s perfect match is a confident, patient, and calm family with some familiarity with large dog breeds. He would be happiest in a home with a large and secure yard, with daily access to walking. Ari will continue to bond with and gentle encouragement, providing him with the stability he needs to thrive. He should do fine with respectful children or cats with the proper introduction and supervision.
Back Story
Ari was part of a backyard breeder's litter of ten. The mother and father are well kept and healthy. All of the litter mates have been adopted, and all weigh in excess of 100 pounds. They were brought to the ranch at 6 weeks old and have been with us since. Due to our resource shortga eit has been difficult to get Ari and many of the dogs to dog adoption events. This is the only reason he is still here.
DNA results: 76% German Shepherd.
Behavior Profile
Ari is a sweet, gentle boy. He loves quiet moments, affection, and snuggles. He is very intelligent, a quick learner, and thrives on praise. He tends to be shy at first but blooms into a loyal and protective companion once trust is built. He does well in a crate and in the house, and will bark when he needs to go outside. He may bark at unfamiliar things outside or while on leash, but is quiet and well-mannered otherwise. He is astute and will make a great protective companion for any family. He enjoys playing, hiking and swimming at the river.

Description
Jackson
Jackson is a gentle dog carrying a great deal of fear and anxiety. He is not aggressive one bit-just overwhelmed by unfamiliar people, doorways, and new environments. Jackson will not become your dog overnight. He needs a calm, low-energy home and patient humans who understand that trust is built slowly and cannot be rushed.
At Pets Return Home, our dogs live in a free-ranging pack structure. This setting benefits many dogs—but not Jackson. His fear makes him an easy target for more confident dogs, who often bully or push him, keeping him in a constant state of unease. His closest comfort comes from Star, another very sensitive dog who understands him. The two share a quiet friendship and often retreat together away from the pack’s social pressure.
Jackson cannot thrive here with this level of stimulation. A quieter, more predictable home will give him the space he needs to finally feel safe and begin to grow.
When Jackson trusts someone, his true heart shines through. He becomes affectionate, playful, and deeply loyal. He enjoys calm walks, chewing on his favorite bones, and peaceful one-on-one time with his person. His love is unwavering once he bonds.
If you can offer Jackson patience, understanding, and a peaceful home, you will genuinely be saving his life. And we will support you throughout his transition and for as long as you and Jackson need us. He deserves a home where he can breathe, settle, and grow into the dog he was always meant to be.
Adopting Jackson means committing to a process—but your patience will directly transform his future. Once he trusts you, his devotion is deep, gentle, and lifelong.
Back Story
Jackson came to us as a puppy with his mom and seven siblings after they were found in a desert den in December. Snow covered the ground when his mother, Isabelle, sought out help from nearby humans who brought the entire family to Pets Return Home. As the runt, Jackson was frequently bullied by his littermates and even by his mother. He was weaker and struggled to compete, and those early experiences shaped his fearful nature.
He has been with us since 2022, growing slowly but steadily, and finding comfort in gentle dogs like Star who share his quiet temperament.
Behavior Profile
Jackson loves quiet moments, gentle interactions, and peaceful routines. He has good house manners, is crate-trained, and enjoys calm walks and relaxed one-on-one time. He forms deep bonds with the people he trusts and often gravitates toward other soft, sensitive dogs—like his friend Star—who helps him feel safe.
Positive Attributes
· Loves quiet moments and gentle affection
· Has a sweet, soft friendship with Star
· Enjoys calm dog companions
· Great house manners
· Crate-trained and leash-trained
· Deeply loyal once bonded
Behavior Challenges
· Shy and hesitant at first
· Needs a calm, predictable routine
· Sensitive to noise and chaotic environments
· Needs slow introductions and gentle handling
· Feels safest in peaceful surroundings
· A true project dog—but incredibly rewarding once trust forms

Ollie – Adoption Bio
Ollie is a gentle soul with a heart of gold, waiting for the right person to help her shine. At first, Ollie may be a little shy, preferring to take things slow while she gets to know you. Once trust is built, you will discover a loyal companion who will stand by your side through life’s quiet moments and joyful days.
Ollie is searching for a patient, understanding adopter who can offer her the stability and kindness she deserves. Ollie thrives in a calm, steady environment, where routines bring her comfort, and gentle handling shows her the world is a safe place. Description
Reggie – Loyal Soul Seeking a Calm, Loving Home
Reggie is a gentle, loving dog just waiting for the right person to notice him. He enjoys having his meals and toys in his own space and prefers slow, gentle handling that lets trust grow naturally. With patience, Reggie becomes a devoted, loyal friend who will stand by your side for life.
Once he chooses you, Reggie is both a calm snuggler and a fun playmate. He loves quiet affection, relaxed moments on the couch, romps in the yard, and peaceful walks. A quick learner with wonderful house manners, he is crate-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and thrives on praise and connection.
Reggie gets along well with most dogs and would enjoy a compatible doggy playmate. He would do best in a calm home with dog-savvy, patient adopters who understand slow introductions and trust building. He is likely fine with older kids but may be too clumsy for small children.
Back Story
Reggie was found roaming in the desert by an animal control officer and taken to a veterinarian for care and adoption—but instead, he spent over a year neglected in a 4×6 outdoor pen. When transferred to Pets Return Home, he arrived 30 pounds underweight with sores on his legs and paws, caked eyes and ears, several dog bites, and no vaccinations or neuter. He was hand-shy and extremely anxious, barking constantly and reacting fearfully to dogs.
Over the next year, Reggie received medical care, training, and patient rehabilitation. His transformation has been remarkable—he now greets new people warmly, listens attentively, enjoys snuggles, loves walks, and engages confidently with dogs. He remains one of our most stable and wonderful boys.
Reggie has a bit of an adventurous streak and has gone on a few “walkabouts,” always returning on his own. With a secure yard and attentive adopters, he will thrive.
Behavior Profile
· Very friendly with people and dogs
· Likely fine with older children; too clumsy for small kids
· Excellent listener
· Barks at unfamiliar things, not excessively
· Enjoys long periods outside, quiet crate time, and relaxing indoors
· Affectionate, stable, and eager to please
Positive Attributes
· Forms a strong, lasting bond with his person.
· Calm and soft in interactions.
· Enjoys toys, games, and fun activities.
· Enjoys cuddles, pets, and human closeness.
· Learns commands and routines quickly.
· Wants to make his human happy.
· Plays well and lives peacefully with other canines.
· Enjoys being around respectful children.
· Consistently goes potty outside.
· Has overcome hardship and adapted well.
· Makes people laugh with his quirks and antics.
Behavior Challenges
· Protects his food from other dogs.
· Dislikes grooming, vet exams, or certain touch.

Description
Star
Star is a gentle, high-anxiety dog who carries a great deal of fear, especially around unfamiliar people and new environments. She is not aggressive at all—just deeply unsure. With the people she trusts, Star becomes a loving, snuggly, deeply devoted companion. But she will not become your dog overnight. Like Jackson, she is a project dog: a dog who needs patience, calm energy, and time to build trust at her own pace.
At Pets Return Home, our dogs live in a free-ranging pack structure. That setup helps many dogs flourish—but not Star. Because she is fearful, the more confident dogs often bully or push her, making it difficult for her to relax, feel safe, or grow. This constant pressure keeps her in a state of hypervigilance. A quiet, stable, predictable home will give Star the breathing room she needs to finally feel secure and make real progress.
When Star feels safe, her true personality shines. She becomes affectionate, playful, and wonderfully loyal. She loves gentle one-on-one times, quiet snuggles, peaceful yard time, and the comfort of a calm human she trusts. She is leash-trained, crate-trained, and has excellent house manners. She also gets along well with most dogs, making her a nice fit for a calm multi-pet home.
If you can offer Star a peaceful environment, patient understanding, and a steady routine, you will genuinely be saving her life. We will support you through her entire transition and for as long as you and Star need us. She deserves a home where she can breathe, settle, and grow into the dog she was always meant to be.
Adopting Star means committing to a process—but your patience will directly transform her future. Once she trusts you, her devotion is deep, gentle, and unwavering.
Back Story
Star came to Pets Return Home in 2020 with her brother, Bolt, after being rescued from a severe hoarding situation involving 50 dogs. They lived in crates inside a 750-square-foot house, in crates far too small and with no opportunity to move freely. Star and Bolt were born in that home, and due to extreme neglect, Star became pregnant while confined in a crate with her brother.
When the rescue operation took place, all the dogs—including Star’s puppies—were saved. The two puppies and Bolt were adopted quickly, but Star remained fearful, cautious, and emotionally shut down due to her early trauma. Over time, she has grown, but her upbringing left her anxious and extremely slow to trust.
Star interacts appropriately with people she knows, prefers calm environments, enjoys outdoor time, is fully crate- and house-trained, and is compatible with most dogs. Her closest dog friend is Jackson—another anxious soul who understands her.
Behavior Profile
Once Star opens her heart, you discover a gentle, sweet companion who loves quiet affection, cozy snuggles, and slow, peaceful times with her person. She has excellent house manners, enjoys calm routines, and is leash- and crate-trained. She begins her journey with shyness, but with patient care, she transforms into a loving, loyal friend.

Description
Taz has earned his Loving Home
Taz is the definition of a loyal, loving, and protective best friend.
This handsome boy wants nothing more than to be the center of your world—soaking up your affection and offering his whole heart in return. Around here, Taz is known for giving constant love, and smooches to the people he trusts.
His favorite things are simple: eating meals in his crate, running free, exploring the ranch, getting attention from his humans, and hunting for lizards. He spends his days outside with 20 other dogs on our 7-acre campus and has learned to be accepting and highly tolerant, even around some of our most rambunctious rowdies.
Taz will thrive in a calm, consistent home that is more peaceful than chaotic, and without small animals. He has excellent house manners, a fun sense of humor, and a sweet, snuggly side that comes out when he feels relaxed and safe. He is crate-trained, leash-familiar, eager to please, and happiest when he knows what is expected of him.
Taz has been with Pets Return Home since 2020, working on his manners and socialization challenges. Today, he is ready to graduate to the loving home he has waited so long for.
Taz is 9 years old and has spent 6 of those years with us. He deserves a final home, a loving family, and the one-on-one attention he craves and needs.
Will you be the one to take Taz home?
You will be rewarded with his love—and with the joy of giving him the family he has waited for.
Back Story:
Taz came from a home in Kansas where several dogs were living together in unstable conditions. He lacked early socialization, and when he ended up in the shelter, he was automatically slated for euthanasia due to his breed. The shelter reached out to Pets Return Home, and we took him in before his time ran out. One of over 1200 we have saved from euthanasia.

Taz came from a home in Kansas where several dogs were living together in unstable conditions. He lacked early socialization, and when he ended up in the shelter, he was automatically slated for euthanasia due to his breed and inexperience. The shelter reached out to Pets Return Home, and we took him in before his time ran out.
Since then, Taz has grown into a confident, affectionate, people-loving dog who just needs the right home. He tolerates other dogs but thrives best as the only one. What he lacks in social dog skills, he more than makes up for with his devotion to humans.
Behavior Profile
Once Taz chooses you, you’ve gained a loyal companion for life. He loves quiet moments and gentle affection just as much as playful yard time and games of fetch. He is a quick learner who enjoys training games, mental challenges, and working alongside his person.
